Oktoberfest's home to Canada's Polka King - Walter Ostanek and Molson's Rocktoberfest. Caters to younger people - the College and University crowd! Monday is Family Day with lots of activities for the young and young-at-heart. Thursday is Conestoga College Night.

The Lions Club of Kitchener has been involved in KW Oktoberfest for 40 years.  One of the founders of this annual festival is a member of our club. One year we assisted KW Oktoberfest Inc in running the festival at Bingeman Park.  The Club saw how successful the event was and it was decided to operate our own festhall. We approached the City of Kitchener to rent Queensmount Arena and with approval called the hall, Altes Munchen Haus meaning "Old Munich House".  Our Club has operated this festhall for the last 40 years.  We had bands from Germany for several years and then some 30 years ago we entered into a contract with Walter Ostenak to entertain our patrons and so he has done for 33 years. This has been the most succesful fundraising project the Club has had in its 70 plus years of existence with profits being distributed to worthy projects in the community.  We look forward to entertaining many more "festival goers" in the years to come.
